The name "718" isn't marketing. In 1957, Porsche built the 718 RSK, a mid-engined, tube-frame race car, focused on agility. When Porsche revived the name in 2016 for the turbocharged four-cylinder Boxster and Cayman, it wasn't nostalgia.
