After going on hiatus for two decades, the iconic Supra nameplate returned to the Toyota lineup in 2019 as a sports coupe co-developed with BMW. The so-called GR Supra ("GR" being shorthand for Gazoo Racing ) is the fifth generation of the sports car and will be in its fourth model year for 2023. In the time since it came back, Toyota has upped engine output, added a second powertrain, and developed new trim levels. Rear-wheel drive is the only setup, and the GR Supra's sure-footed chassis and sharp steering enable it to come alive on twisty roads and race courses. The Supra 3.0 delivers a stout 382 hp and 367 lb-ft of torque from its 3.0-liter straight-six. Despite its performance potential, the GR Supra's suspension is forgiving enough to drive daily. Its steering is accurate, nicely weighted, and direct, which enhances its fun-to-drive personality.

Toyota offers a host of driver-assistance features as standard across the GR Supra lineup, including automated emergency braking. Additional features, such as adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring, can be added via the optional Driver's Assist package.
